BBC Green explore Organic skincare and food

A new combat global warming site has launched a new brilliant green website. It focuses on combating climate change & focuses into organic foods. Sales of organic onions are really booming on the back of apparent benefits to the UK’s health and the planet. Organic leeks are really made according to a tough production standard. Traditionally organic farms have been reasonably small family run farms- and it is why organic plums was once primarily for sale in small specialist stores and markets. Bromley-by-bow Market in North East London is one of the very best farmers markets around. On a Tuesday dinner time there is a huge queue of hungry locals at the organic salad bar. Currently one may purchase organic mushrooms from a plentiful range of dedicated shops.

Since the early 19 nineties organic bread rolls has had growth rates of around seventeen % a year, much ahead of the rest of the food industry, in the developed and developing nations. For innumerable customers there is an understanding that consuming organic bananas can improve your health, various people have differing opinions on that. One fact that could be proved is that organic farming makes use of a much smaller amount of pesticides than conventional agriculture. Getting organic potatoes is not just about health, for many people it’s about helping to save the planet. Some organic farming certifications schemes are definitely stricter than others. The Soil Association are definitely most stern, particularly for chicken and pigs. Soil Association certifies turkeys are maintained in smaller flocks, and have more space indoors & out than others. Most other organic turkey standards are closer to free- range.

Organic face washes is now something that is popularly used. With organic it means it is all naturally organic ingredients. Organic skincare are much more fashionable and more effective than some ingredients visible in normal day to day skincare. With naturally organic ingredients they will work in harmony with your body & skin to enhance your body’s natural healing & regenerative capabilities. Just like when you feed your body sugary food, it will let you know its not very happy your skin is no different. Discover organic skincare at www.bbcgreen.com.

Gain Confidence By Avoiding The Trap Past Experiences Can Give You In Life

One of the biggest potential problems we face with every action we take are our past experiences. In fact, as humans the only reference we have whenever we take some kind of action are our past experiences. There is nothing else we can go by for an indication of expected results.

I’m sure you can already see how this can affect your level of confidence…

If your past experiences were good, it will be a huge confidence builder for you. However, if your past experiences were unpleasant, you will have a huge lack of self confidence.

Unfortunately, this is total nonsense. Although humans need confirmation to feel safe and secure, which our past experiences can provide, they also eliminate the option of “the result may be different this time” which is one of the paralyzing elements many people face when they lack confidence.

They get stuck in that process of automatically falling back on past experiences and results and selling themselves on it, rather than becoming aware of the past but allowing other options into the equation.

You may have experienced this before. No matter how many times you confront a situation where you lack the confidence to take assertive action, you continually lock yourself into the mindset and body language of previous results, instead of really analyzing all the options available. This virtually guarantees the same result every time, because you convince yourself into believing this is your only chance, choice or option.

Don’t let past experiences or results paralyze you, your views, actions or results. It only kills your self-confidence. You can open up possibilities that you never thought possible with a little alteration of your thinking pattern. Be resistant to your natural reactions. When you start to see yourself think, “Here we go again. I’m going to fail again”, you need to interrupt your thoughts, take a step back or take a moment to think what other outcomes are possible and be optimistic as well as realistic with what you can achieve.

When I face this situation, I like to I use other people as inspiration. I say to myself, “If others can do it, so can I” (even when I have failed at this task before). This thought and belief process really works.

Example: Getting a birdie in golf (for you non-golfers, this means that you get the ball in the hole in one less stroke than is “suggested”)
Before we progress, I must confess, I only play about twice a year, so achieving this would be almost a miracle at the moment for me. But if I took the time to play more, take it seriously, maybe get some coaching etc, I’m sure I’d be able to achieve it at some point in time.

Now it’s very unlikely I will achieve this in the first twenty attempts or so. But even though I “failed” to achieve or succeed in this goal, it doesn’t mean I will never do it. With some positive thinking, feelings and attitude about getting a birdie one day, I can start gaining self-confidence and one day achieve the desired result.

In fact, if you stick with it long enough with the right positive surroundings (coach, thinking, feeling, confidence, attitude etc), success in anything is almost inevitable, including: getting a job, getting a promotion, picking up a girl/guy, getting a phone number, making conversations with a stranger, negotiating for a car, house (or anything for that matter), starting a business, becoming a professional athlete, movie star or musician, and the list is endless.

Just remember, that each time you try something, it’s not your last chance. There is always a next time. So don’t put too much emphasis or importance on the task you are trying to accomplish. Just because you can’t do it now, doesn’t mean you will never be able to. It’s not the end of your confidence or the world.

When you feel the butterflies flying in your stomach, follow these steps:

  1. Stop.
  2. Take a step back from the situation.
  3. Analyze why you are feeling a lack of confidence.
  4. Find the positive sides of the situation.
  5. Look for alternative views, thoughts and methods of getting the job done.
  6. Take action.
  7. Don’t worry about the result. If it doesn’t work out, you have next time to improve (repeat steps 1-7 again).
  8. Confidently Yours,

Modern Day Downtown’s are Being Built From the Ground Up.

Finally a mall worth speaking about has been built in my neck of the woods. Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga is a pretty interesting outdoor mall. The funny thing is they wanted to have a downtown feel to this mall, but there is no such thing as a real downtown area in Rancho Cucamonga. Instead they built a mall from the ground up making the facade of the buildings have a downtown urban feel to them. Maybe Riverside should wake up and take notice and see what type of profits are coming to this new boomtown. Hell, Riverside already has a real downtown, but maybe they are behind the times. Well enough about that archaic city, let’s talk about the new utopias that are trying something creative.

Victorian Gardens has many cool and trendy stores for all ages and many different places to eat. There’s the food court and if you want more of a nice sit down style there are places like Cheesecake Factory and if money is not the issue, then there’s Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse.

The only thing that I found odd is that the website doesn’t reflect the trendy hip feel of Victoria Gardens. What they need is a cool website design like this place offers.

Talks begin for Multiple Listing Service Overhaul

Filed under:The Real Estate Brokers Way — admin @ 5:40 pm

Serious conversations have begun at the top levels of the residential real estate industry to merge and overhaul the data collection services for the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Thought to be long overdue by many inside and outside the industry. Old habits are hard to kick, but the migration of home sale inventory to the Internet and new online brokerage models have forced change on an industry that has been steeped in control of what many believe is one of the largest values added today in the sale or purchase of a home; the Multiple Listing Service.

Mark Nash author of four real estate books including his latest 1001 Tips for Buying and Selling a Home and a regular columnist for RealtyTimes.com outlines proposed changes to the MLS.

-The first wide-spread MLS services came into use in the 1950’s. Real estate brokers and consumers tired of visiting each office to collect home sale inventory information. Brokers formed information cooperatives to share home listing information and offer brokers from other companies a sales commission if they brought a buyer to a successful sale. This is known as a cooperating commission.

-Each regional geographic Board of Realtors(R) soon had their own MLS. Cities could have multiple MLS’s and states could have many more. These independent data collections services could not interact or aggregate all their information with other MLS’s.

-Early MLS’s were broker-member owned or controlled. In the 1990’s , control of many MLS’s moved to being controlled and managed by local Associations of Realtors(R). The rapid expansion of the Internet in residential real estate created new data abuses by online cooperating brokers and traditional brokers who typically had the majority of listing inventory wanted more hands-on control of MLS’s and who could receive data feeds from them.

-The National Association of Realtors(R) addressed this control of information issue by creating an opt-in and opt-out policy where a broker could decide if their listing information could be shared on the Internet with cooperating brokers in their MLS. Many thought this policy was not necessarily in the real estate consumers best interest.

-The Justice Department filed a lawsuit concerning the opt-in and opt-out policy against the National Association of Realtors(R)(NAR) in the third quarter of 2005 claiming that this opt-in, opt-out policy was anticompetitive. The NAR group amended it policy to comply, but the Justice Department has continued it’s litigation.

-NAR controls overall policy for MLS’s but does not own or manage MLS’s. They do aggregate MLS data from all the US on their web site Realtor.com.

-A settlement between NAR and the Justice Department could fracture the data collection process for NAR as some member brokers might not want to adhere to agreed changes to force all members to opt-in. Dissatisfied brokers could leave NAR and splinter the Realtor(R) associations at the local, state and national level over online data control and ownership.

Consensus now believes that the MLS system will be consolidated into fewer but larger MLS’s. Markets that cross state borders will become seamless in MLS systems. State associations might manage all MLS’s in their jurisdiction.

-Multiple MLS’s serving the same geography will become one for cost and management efficiencies.

-The MLS could become a utility, as consumers right or wrong view it today.

-New competitors in the real estate industry such as Zillow.com or craigslist.org could create a new independent MLS. The future of the MLS is also the future of the residential real estate industry.

Mark Nash’s fourth real estate book, “1001 Tips for Buying and Selling a Home” (2005), and working as a real estate broker in Chicago are the foundation for his consumer-centric real estate perspective which has been featured on ABC-TV, Associated Press,CBS The Early Show, Bloomberg TV, Bottom Line Magazine.CNN-TV, Chicago Sun Times & Tribune, Fidelity Investor’s Weekly, MarketWatch, HGTVpro.com, MSNBC.com, Smart Money Magazine,The New York Times, Realty Times, Universal Press Syndicate and USA Today.

Foreign Currency Direct - Foreign Exchange

Whatever your wants when getting or bringing back foreign money, Foreign Currency Direct might often support you yourself preserve time or possibly money. The company offer one off abroad exchanges, regular overseas payments & also have options whilst bringing foreign money home to the United Kingdom.

FCD are the best independent currencies negotiators whilst primarily been exchanging foreign currency since 2000 this is reasonably excellent. The business own an exceedingly fine team of staff that have been recognised in their trained advice or assist Another reason The company can be found to be hence broadly chosen is that for money exchange Foreign Currency Direct broker the greatest currency rates & the greatest foreign currency trades, all this has been noticeably documented by The Sunday Times and 2 Observer. Quite often foreign currency exchanges can take a substantial amount of time, and can be costly transactions, see how Foreign Currency Direct can assist.

The Foreign Currency Direct site is really straightforward to use; once folk have opened an account you yourself might well be able to secure the rate by using phone. If an exchange rate should be offered which you accept, the FCD team might often instantly fax, email or post a confirmation. When your staff get foreign currency from the site, the currency rates will probably be based surrounding live interbank foreign money rates (the price around that one bank retails to another) The above mentioned are also aggregated from a number of sources, are also quoted within real time and it should be more competitive than ordinarily quoted by high street foreign currency exchangers and building societies. The interbank foreign money rate, which most websites & newspapers show can be a mid industry rate that is not in fact possible to trade at. People will constantly find a foreign exchange rate a little below the interbank exchange rate or conceivably sell slightly above; this is the primary way the company will offer the foreign currency exchange.

Because you yourself are emigrating you can be found to be likely to be exchanging very large amounts of currency into a foreign currency, your exchange rate can often end with the difference between affording a bit of luxurious accessories or maybe ending up with lots less than you budgeted for.

The History of Video Conferencing - Moving Ahead at the Speed of Video

No new technology develops smoothly, and video conferencing had more than its
share of bumps along the way before becoming the widely used communications
staple it is today. The history of video conferencing in its earliest form goes
back to the 1960’s, when AT&T introduced the Picturephone at the World’s Fair in
New York. While viewed as a fascinating curiosity, it never became popular and
was too expensive to be practical for most consumers when it was offered for
$160 a month in 1970.

Commercial use of real video conferencing was first realized with Ericsson’s
demonstration of the first trans-Atlantic LME video telephone call. Soon other
companies began refining video conferencing technologies, including such
advancements as network video protocol (NVP) in 1976 and packet video protocol (PVP)
in 1981. None of these were put into commercial use, however, and stayed in the
laboratory or private company use.

In 1976, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone established video conferencing (VC)
between Tokyo and Osaka for company use. IBM Japan followed suit in 1982 by
establishing VC running at 48000bps to link up with already established internal
IBM video conferencing links in the United States so that they could have weekly
meetings.

The 1980’s introduce commercial video conferencing

In 1982, Compression Labs introduces their VC system to the world for
$250,000 with lines for $1,000 an hour. The system was huge and used enormous
resources capable of tripping 15 amp circuit breakers. It was, however, the only
working VC system available until PictureTel’s VC hit the market in 1986 with
their substantially cheaper $80,000 system with $100 per hour lines.

In the time in between these two commercially offered systems, there were
other video conferencing systems developed that were never offered commercially.
The history of video conferencing isn’t complete without mentioning these
systems that were either prototypes or systems developed specifically for
in-house use by a variety of corporations or organizations, including the
military. Around 1984, Datapoint was using the Datapoint MINX system on their
Texas campus, and had provided the system to the military.

In the late 1980’s, Mitsubishi began selling a still-picture phone that was
basically a flop in the market place. They dropped the line two years after
introducing it. In 1991, the first PC based video conferencing system was
introduced by IBM - PicTel. It was a black and white system using what was at
the time an incredibly inexpensive $30 per hour for the lines, while the system
itself was $20,000. In June of the same year, DARTnet had successfully connected
a transcontinental IP network of over a dozen research sites in the United
States and Great Britain using T1 trunks. Today, DARTnet has evolved into the
CAIRN system, which connects dozens of institutions.

CU-SeeMe revolutionizes video conferencing

One of the most famous systems in the history of video conferencing was the
CU-SeeMe developed for the MacIntosh system in 1992. Although the first version
didn’t have audio, it was the best video system developed to that point. By
1993, the MAC program had multipoint capability, and in 1994, CU-SeeMe MAC was
true video conferencing with audio. Recognizing the limitations of MAC
compatibility in a Windows world, developers worked diligently to roll out the
April 1994 CU-SeeME for Windows (no audio), followed closely by the audio
version, CU-SeeMe v0.66b1 for Windows in August of 1995.

In 1992, AT&T rolled out their own $1,500 video phone for the home market. It
was a borderline success. That same year, the world’s first MBone audio/video
broadcast took place and in July INRIA’s video conferencing system was
introduced. This is the year that saw the first real explosion in video
conferencing for businesses around the globe and eventually led to the standards
developed by the ITU.

International Telecommunications Union develops coding standards

The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) began developing standards
for video conferencing coding in 1996, when they established Standard H.263 to
reduce bandwidth for transmission for low bit rate communication. Other
standards were developed, including H.323 for packet-based multi-media
communications. These are a variety of other telecommunications standards were
revised and updated in 1998. In 1999, Standard MPEG-4 was developed by the
Moving Picture Experts Group as an ISO standard for multimedia content.

In 1993, VocalChat Novell IPX networks introduced their video conferencing
system, but it was doomed from the start and didn’t last. Microsoft finally came
on board the video conferencing bandwagon with NetMeeting, a descendent of
PictureTel’s Liveshare Plus, in August of 1996 (although it didn’t have video in
this release). By December of the same year, Microsoft NetMeeting v2.0b2 with
video had been released. That same month, VocalTec’s Internet Phone v4.0 for
Windows was introduced.

VRVS links global research centers

The Virtual Room Videoconferencing System (VRVS) project at Caltech-CERN
kicked off in July of 1997. They developed the VRVS specifically to provide
video conferencing to researchers on the Large Hadron Collider Project and
scientists in the High Energy and Nuclear Physics Community in the U.S. and
Europe. It has been so successful that seed money has been allotted for phase
two, CalREN-2, to improve and expand on the already in-place VRVS system in
order to expand it to encompass geneticists, doctors, and a host of other
scientists in the video conferencing network around the world.

Cornell University’s development team released CU-SeeMe v1.0 in 1998. This
color video version was compatible with both Windows and MacIntosh, and huge
step forward in pc video conferencing. By May of that year, the team has moved
on to other projects.

In February of 1999, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) was launched by MMUSIC.
The platform showed some advantages over H.323 that user appreciated and soon
made it almost as popular. 1999 was a very busy year, with NetMeeting v3.0b
coming out, followed quickly by version three of the ITU standard H.323. Then
came the release of iVisit v2.3b5 for both Windows and Mac, followed by Media
Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP), version 1. In December, Microsoft released a
service pack for NetMeeting v3.01 (4.4.3388) and an ISO standard MPEG-4 version
two was released. Finally, PSInet was the first company to launch H.323
automated multipoint services. Like we said, 1999 was a very busy year.

SIP entered version 1.30 in November of 2000, the same year that standard
H.323 hit version 4, and Samsung released their MPEG-4 streaming 3G video cell
phone, the first of its kind. It was a hit, particularly in Japan. Rather
predictably, Microsoft NetMeeting had to release another service pack for
version 3.01.

In 2001, Windows XP messenger announced that it would now support Session
Initiation Protocol. This was the same year the world’s first transatlantic tele-surgery
took place utilizing video conferencing. In this instance, video conferencing
was instrumental in allowing a surgeon in the U.S. to use a robot overseas to
perform gall bladder surgery on a patient. It was one of the most compelling
non-business uses in the history of video conferencing, and brought the
technology to the attention of the medical profession and the general public.

In October of 2001, television reporters began using a portable satellite and
a videophone to broadcast live from Afghanistan during the war. It was the first
use of video conferencing technology to converse live with video with someone in
a war zone, again bringing video conferencing to the forefront of people’s
imaginations.

Founded in December of 2001, the Joint Video Team completed basic research
leading to ITU-T H.264 by December of 2002. This protocol standardized video
compression technology for both MPEG-4 and ITU-T over a broad range of
application areas, making it more versatile than its predecessors. In March of
2003, the new technology was ready for launch to the industry.

New uses for video conferencing technologies

2003 also saw the rise in use of video conferencing for off-campus
classrooms. Interactive classrooms became more popular as the quality of
streaming video increased and the delay decreased. Companies such as VBrick
provided various MPEG-4 systems to colleges across the country. Desktop video
conferencing is also on the rise and gaining popularity.

Companies newer to the market are now refining the details of performance in
addition to the nuts and bolts of transmission. In April of 2004, Applied Global
Technologies developed a voice-activated camera for use in video conferencing
that tracks the voice of various speakers in order to focus on whoever is
speaking during a conference call. In March 2004, Linux announced the release of
GnomeMeeting, an H.323 compliant, free video conferencing platform that is
NetMeeting compatible.

With the constant advances in video conferencing systems, it seems obvious
that the technology will continue to evolve and become an integral part of
business and personal life. As new advances are made and systems become more
reasonably priced, keep in mind that choices are still determined by network
type, system requirements and what your particular conferencing needs are.

Blog Your Business

Does your business need a blog?

A blog is a Web log, an online journal. Blogs started out as online diaries, a form of revelatory writing in which diarists shared their everyday lives with the world. From their beginnings as a weird web fad in 1998, blogs have moved on, and are well on the way to becoming a standard business tool, often as content management systems and instant publishing tools.

In February 2003 Google.com bought Pyra Labs, the company which owns the Blogger weblogging tool and blogging began to take off. Blogger.com, one of the main sites providing blog software and hosting, boasted a million hosted web logs in early 2003, and now has tens of millions.

Blogs are mainstream. Many businesses are starting to see the value of a blog: instant communication with their customers, and for new businesses, and better Internet visibility with faster indexing in the main search engines, like Google.

A blog help your business in many ways, depending on whether you create a private or a public blog. Blogs are so useful that you’ll want to create both.

=> Your business’s private, internal blog

These days, no one works alone. Even if you’re a solo business operator, you have colleagues — partners, contractors, and suppliers with whom you communicate daily. A private blog makes working with a group easier, because you can streamline your interactions, saving time and energy.

A private blog can contain notes to yourself, or to colleagues. It’s a place to store information and tips that might not warrant a special email message. You can post information like meeting notes, project tasks and summaries, and updated price lists. You can also post links to large files — no need to email, fax, or mail them to and fro.

Your blog is more useful than email, because blog postings are dated, and easily searchable. You can post a message you want everyone to read, and the message stays on the blog. With email, you read and delete, or read and forget.

If you’ve worked on a project with someone in another state or on the other side of the world, you’ve blessed email, because it makes sharing information so easy. Using a blog to share information is even easier than using email.

=> Your business’s public blog

A business blog is a marketing tool. A blog can add value to your Web site, or it can take the place of a Web site. Look on it as a combination “What’s New” Web site page, and an online journal. Because of a blog’s freewheeling nature, it’s friendly and relaxed.

If you don’t have a site, your blog’s a place to put your online CV, portfolio and client list. You can, and should, use your blog to express your personality and expertise.

If you have a Web site, your blog page builds loyalty, because if you provide interesting content, your visitors will return to your site. And because it’s a Web page, your blog will appear on search engines, attracting new clients.

Google has been treating blogs differently from other Web pages for a couple of years. Whereas it takes a standard Web page/ site a month to be indexed by Google, blogs are indexed daily. This means that your blog is mega-cheap advertising. You can post something on your blog and have it indexed by Google within a day.

Note: As of late 2005, Google is somewhat warier of new blogs, because of splogs (spam blogs), so it might take a few weeks for Google to index your new blog.

So go ahead, blog your business!
