Why A Simple Counter is Never Enough for Your Website

A simple website stats counter is not enough if you are really interested in finding out information about your traffic. Certainly, a simple web counter will tell you how many people have visited your site, but that is it. If you are trying to gain real information, you will need to have a web counter that does more than just count. Read the following reasons why you need more than a simple counter for your website.

Reason #1 – Time

A simple counter tells you how many visitors you have had in total. This is interesting information, but it is really not helpful overall. You also want to know what time people are visiting your sites, whether it is at night, on weekends, in the morning, and to know in general when your web pages are experiencing traffic and when they are not. Also, you want to know if these are new visitors or return visitors, a simple counter is not going to provide you with that information.

Reason #2 – Where Your Traffic Comes From

Another reason a simple site traffic counter is not enough is because you want to know where your traffic is coming from. For instance, if all your traffic is coming from Google and AltaVista then you might consider marketing to other search engines as well to get more traffic. Also, are people responding to e-mails, affiliate programs, or other types of advertisement to get to your site? All of this information will help you create a better site and make more money.

Reason #3 – Who Your Visitors Are

A simple counter is not going to tell you who your visitors are or how they found you. This is really important information because it lets you know what marketing techniques are working for you or not. You want to know what keywords are used to find your website, what links are being clicked on to bring you more traffic, what search engines are being used, and all the detailed information that helps guide you in your future marketing campaign. As you can see, a simple counter is not enough if you are interested in making the most of your marketing and your business.

Reason #4 – Equipment

This might not seem like an important thing to know, but it really is. With a professional counter you will be able to know which browsers and equipment, including screen sizes that the majority of your traffic is using. When you know this information you will better be able to design your website to reflect your customers’ equipment and browsers so they can view your page as best as possible.

If you really want to have the best site for your visitors and get the most traffic and make the most money possible, you will not employee a simple counter on your website but will take your success more seriously.

FREE Website Traffic Generation

Establishing a website business is no longer easy, There are thousands of competition that is all too willing to get a bigger share of the pie. Every scheme and method you can find to augment your sales would be very beneficial.. But of course, with the versatility the internet offers, there are many ways you could find that could help optimize the potential of your site or business in generating traffic.

While there are ways to jumpstart your traffic flows, many sites don’t have the resources that others have to generate more traffic for your site. Well, you don’t have to spend a cent; all you need is the proper mindset and a lot of eagerness. You also must have the drive and perseverance to do hard work and research to generate more traffic for your site.

Ever wonder how does big hit sites drive traffic top their site? Most of them are spending tons of money to drive the traffic to their sites, investing in many advertising campaigns and different forms of marketing schemes and gimmickries. This is all worthwhile because, well, they are what they are now, high earning, big hitting websites.

Take advantage of online forums and online communities. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss about lots of things about the niche that you represent or offer. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.

Distribute an email course. Each day, have your autoresponder send out another lesson. Just be sure that each lesson has quality content – not a sales pitch. Your content will do the selling for you, and will do it much more effectively. You can include tips centered on a different topic for each lesson, illustrating how your product will benefit the reader. Include the tangible benefits the visitor will reap by purchasing your product. Make sure to include a paragraph or two at the end of each lesson enticing your prospect to consider making a purchase.

Search Engine friendly webpages are very important in getting traffic. you need HTML text on your page. Sometimes sites present large sections of copy via graphics. It looks pretty, but search engines can’t read those graphics. That means they miss out on text that might make your site more relevant. Some of the search engines will index ALT text and comment information. But to be safe, use HTML text whenever possible. Some of your human visitors will appreciate it, also. There are many automated tools which can take care of the above.

You can also make use of newsletters. Provide people with a catalog of your products and interesting and entertaining articles. If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who signs up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your traffic.

Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You don’t have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. With exchanging links, the efforts both sites do will benefit both sites. Every traffic that goes to the site could potentially click on the link of your site and visit your site as well. This works well especially when both sites feature the same niche.

Most every site and companies are catching on to the effectivity of Viral Marketing and Advertising. Not using it could kill your business. Along with other schemes and methods in promoting your site, like Search Engine Optimization and such, viral marketing could easily push you ahead in the rating games.

Write articles that could pique the attention of people that have interest in your product. Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to other aficionados. Writing articles that provide good service and knowledge to other people would provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs.

Many sites offer free submission and posting of your articles. When people find interest in your articles they have a good chance of following the track by finding out where the article originated. Include a link or a brief description of your company with the article and there’s a great probability that they will go to your site.

All of these methods and more will drive more traffic to your site for free. All it takes is a bit of effort and extended man hours. Learn all you can about the methods depicted here and you will soon have a site with a great traffic flow without the usual costs that come with it.

Spherical Bouncing Robots

In 2005 the robotics industry pushed forward into the future with huge strides as we saw the first fully autonomous car drive 210 miles through the desert in the DARPA Grand Challenge. We also saw iRobot zoom ahead as its stock soared in Wall Street with its IPO.

The Tokyo Robotics show impressed the world over with android type robots, which could do nearly any task at home and walk upright, just like you and I. And we watched NASA’s Mars Rover exceed expectations and warranties on another planet. Wow, surely this was the greatest year in World Robotics History, but many researchers and industry analysts say this is merely a foreshadowing of things to come in the future.

In the future we will see so many new ideas, innovations and designs for robotic devices. One device concept we will see is Spherical Bouncing Robots, which use a combination of internal motion parts and haptics to allow them to bounce or roll along without any external parts which might be subject to getting caught on things or corroding in the sulfuric chemicals on the surface of a planet. There are many advantages to spherical robotics over some of the present designs and believe it or not they can even be designed to sit on an incline without rolling down the hill. Think on this in 2006.

Your Wardrobe: 7 Basic Steps to Success

Does the label make the clothes? The answer is only if you feel like you have to be a name dropper or if you are on a red carpet revealing who designed your gown. There are some in certain social sets who would disagree with this, but the reality is that if you are an average person, it is much more important that you look your best in a style that is appropriate for your lifestyle and body type than it is to have the latest label.

When was the last time that someone who you respect for his/her fashion sense told you that you looked great? By keeping seven basic principles in mind, you can look great all of the time.

Step 1: Know your body type

None of us is perfect so know your measurements and shape. Think about arm, leg and torso length and shoulder, hip, waist and thigh shape and width. Evaluate your overall body shape. One trick we like for this is standing in front of a mirror with someone tracing your shape on the mirror with soap. Ok, so you will have to wash the mirror afterwards but it gives you a great sense of your shape. Finally think about the areas you want to hide or accentuate.

Step 2: Be realistic

This works for all body types. Wear clothing that fit properly. Squeezing into a smaller size does not make you smaller. It makes you look like you have gained weight and didn’t buy clothing that are the right size. On the flip side, wearing baggy, bigger clothing in an attempt to hide things does not work either. You just make yourself look sloppy and larger. Don’t buy what you wish you looked good in, but what really does compliment you.

Step 3: Just because they make it in your size…

…does not mean you should buy it and wear it. Fashion is only fashionable if you look attractive in it, not because a celebrity is wearing it or it was in all of fashion magazines. Low-rise pants brought this point home more than any fashion trend in recent history. A few years ago, you just couldn’t be seen in public if you weren’t wearing low-rise pants/jeans. However, 75% (and that is conservative) of the women in this country should not have been wearing them. Now at this point we need to say that our opinion of low-rise pants may not be mainstream with the rest of the fashion industry’s opinions but we know what we see. Also bear in mind that there are different styles of low-rise pants and some of this disastrous fashion situation could have been avoided by changing the style of low-rise worn. Low-rise pants make long torsos look longer. The smallest amount of excess weight or flab in the middle is emphasized. Someone with no obvious waistline looks even straighter and less shapely. Large bums look larger as do wide hips. However, everyone rushed out to buy them and we have been subjected to rolls of fat, thongs sticking out the back and worse ever since. Moral of the story – wear a style that flatters not fattens and you will receive many more compliments.

Step 4: Know your colors

Black is not everyone’s best friend. Colors sold in the stores in a particular season may not be yours. Regardless of which method you use to determine the right colors for you, it must be done. If you aren’t sure, contact an image or wardrobe consultant for some professional help. It is worth the time and money. I had a client who went from people asking her if she was sick all of the time to people asking her if she was having an affair, all because she changed the colors in her wardrobe. Suddenly it seemed like her skin was glowing, her eyes were shining and she was well rested and ready to take the world by storm. People started to take notice. What do you do when your colors are not in the stores? Stock up on base pieces when the season or colors of the year are yours. When the main colors are not yours, you can usually still find accessories to complement your base pieces or check out last year’s clearance and discontinued items.

Step 5: Build a base

You have conquered the major challenges: knowing your body, knowing your colors and not becoming a fashion slave. So now you actually need to build a wardrobe. Your lifestyle will determine where the emphasis lies on the core elements of your wardrobe. However, here are a few suggestions on what you should have. You will need to adjust according to your life, but remember the key to any successful wardrobe is having items that can be mixed and matched with other items. Please note that we are not breaking up the list by summer and winter. Some of your items will be year round and some will be season.

Pants:

  • 3 pairs of work pants
  • 2 pairs of casual pants
  • 1 pair of evening pants

Skirts:

  • 2 skirts for work
  • 1 skirt for weekend or fun
  • 1 skirt for evenings or social events

Jackets/Coats: (Where you live determines the weight)

  • 2 Blazers or suit jackets for work
  • 1 casual jacket for weekend or fun
  • 1 evening jacket or wrap

Shoes:

  • 1 pair of tennis shoes (sneakers)
  • 2 pairs of black, brown or navy (depending on your base color) casual or walking shoes
  • 2 pairs of work shoes in black, brown or navy
  • 1 pair of stylish boots for winter or sandals for summer
  • 1 pair of evening shoes

Tops:

  • One week’s worth of work tops/blouses
  • 2 casual weekend tops and 2 tshirt tops
  • 1 evening top

Dresses:

Not all shapes lend themselves to wearing dresses. However, if you love dresses, you should have one for work, another for play and a third for evening if you have a lot of social occasions.

Step 6: Think before you buy

Unless you are buying a new base piece, don’t buy an item unless you already have three things in your wardrobe with which you can wear it.

Step 7: Budget

Spend the bulk of your budget on the base pieces. You will thank me later for this advice. Quality base pieces will last and will remain fashionable. Fill in your wardrobe with accessories with the remainder of your wardrobe budget. These items are often the trendier or more seasonable items and have a shorter shelf life in your wardrobe. And for those of you who do not have a wardrobe budget – get one. The easiest way to have an out of control closet or overflowing shoe bin is too just go shopping willy-nilly without a plan.

We cannot possibly cover all of the do’s and don’t of fashion in one article but these seven steps should get you started. It is important to have a plan, make a list of what you have and stick to it. It is even more crucial to know your body, be realistic and wear what was made for you, not what was made for a super-model. Happy shopping!

Moving On: Powerful Tips For Selling Your Home

Maybe you’re moving to a larger home to accommodate a growing family, relocating for a new career opportunity, or purchasing a townhouse for retirement. Whatever the reason for the move, you’ll need to take the necessary steps to sell your home for the best possible price, within a reasonable amount of time. Where do you begin?

If you’re like most people, you’ll start by seeking assistance from a professional. A local real estate sales associate, who knows your neighborhood, can help you determine a fair market price. The sales associate should also recommend the extent to which you should make repairs or improvements to your house.

In order to select a real estate professional who’s right for you, ask family, friends and neighbors for referrals. Attend open houses and interview several sales associates to find out how professional or experienced they may be. Get a written outline of how they plan to market your property and the services they will offer you.

Once you’ve identified a qualified professional, the rest is chemistry. Is the sales associate someone with whom you would like to work closely? Do you feel comfortable with the sales associate as your partner, working with you to give you advice and acting as your representative? Does he or she practice a consultative selling approach, focusing on the long-term client relationship and on the importance of exceeding client needs and expectations or is he or she caught up in the proverbial ‘hard sell?’

The brokerage firm that your agent is associated with is also important. Research the firm’s success rate and commitment to quality service. Does it survey existing clients in order to ensure customer satisfaction? What are the results of those surveys? How in tune are they with consumer needs? Do they offer guidance with mortgages or any discounts for other home related or moving services?

“To be competitive in today’s real estate market, as agents, we have to offer the buyer/seller products and services above and beyond the sale. That’s why the CENTURY 21 System has established partnerships with various companies that allow us to offer everything from mortgages to moving services. This Preferred Alliance Services Program has enabled us to satisfy a consumer need while maintaining a high-level of quality service.

Determining your home’s fair market value is one of the most important decisions you’ll make during the home-selling/buying process. Your sales associate can help you set a fair price based on local market conditions. For instance, she or he will provide sale prices and other statistics of homes similar to yours that have recently been sold. Prospective buyers will be comparing your home to others on the market. Therefore, setting a comprehensive price can determine if your property will or will not sell.

For the first offer made, it’s rare that the prospective buyer matches the asking price. If the offer is reasonably close to the asking price, carefully consider the offer before you consider turning it down. Curiously, it’s the first offer that can often be the best offer. If the first offer is unacceptable to you, it may in your best interest to have your sales associate respond with a counter offer. Whenever considering an offer, ask yourself if you would purchase the property for the amount being offered. Always be willing to negotiate, especially if the prospective buyer is pre-qualified for a mortgage.

Once you decide what terms are acceptable, let your sales associate negotiate with the prospective buyer to work out the best agreement for you. You’ll need to be patient while the buyer arranges financing and as the real estate company compiles and prepares pertinent data.

Careful planning and sound advice from a real estate professional can make selling your home a very satisfying experience.

Freedom Is Found In Detachment

I am looking for freedom in my life. And I know the only way I can find it is through detachment.

Every morning as I am preparing to begin my day I ask for a direction which will ultimately shape my life. During my day little signs will come to me that give me guidance toward my lesson. These come to me in a very profound manner and truly deepen my spiritual connection to all things. It has taken me a long time to learn how to hear this guidance. What I have come to know is that nature’s messages do not come in form of a bolt of lightening as much as they come as a subtle breeze or light fragrance. And I find that unless I listen very carefully they go overlooked.

The other day I had asked for guidance and wisdom for this New Year. As I journeyed on my daily hike I passed my neighbors house. He had borrowed my ladder a few weeks ago and failed to return it. I saw it in his front yard. I was more amused than I was irritated. But, it lead me to think about him. He has not worked in nearly 3 years. He took a second out on his home some time ago and has been living off of his equity in the hopes that work will come to him. He has almost depleted his equity and has become very over leveraged. If the real estate market ever pulls back he will be in financial ruin.

An old sage had once told me how they use small wooden boxes to capture monkeys in Southeast Asia. There is a small whole cut in the top just big enough for the monkey’s hand. Peanuts are left in the bottom of the box. The monkeys descend upon the boxes and reach inside for the peanuts. However, with a fist full of peanuts the monkey is unable to get his fist free from the box. His attachment to the peanuts has lead to his capture.

The world is my mirror and my neighbor’s dilemma was a mirror of my dilemma, thus my lesson for the day. How am I the monkey? What are my attachments? How do my attachments keep me captive and impugn my freedom? How can I transcend my attachments and dependency that I hold so dearly and transform them into love and admiration? I know if I listen very carefully the answers will come to me. All I have to do is ask.

These were all great questions for me and maybe for you as well. It has started me on my journey for this New Year. And the Journey is where the answers are as opposed to the destination.

How To Create Your Own Bullet Proof Marketing Attack Plan

If you are a serious web business owner, pay attention…

You have decided to enter the world of online marketing and plan to take that world by storm. Well, that sounds great, congratulations, I hope it works well, but just how do you plan to accomplish this?

What is your business plan like?

You have a quality product, you’re going to sell it online on a marketing website and you have opened a bank account?

Well, so far that sounds good but how are you going to sell it online on your marketing website?

What kind of advertising are you going to do?

Are you going to use advertising associates?

Do you plan to sign it up with search engines?

What about email lists, are you planning to compile those?

HINT: Having a good marketing plan is as important for an online business which is just starting out as it is for a business in the ‘real world’.

NOTE: If you plan to take the cyber marketing world by storm, then you really need to get ready to emulate.

Thor and throw some thunderbolts that will gain everyone’s attention and do it in a spectacular and in a good way.

Learn about online marketing.

Who are the successes out there and why are they so successful?

Who are you targeting as your potential customers and how can you best reach them?

TIP: Make a list of what you are going to do to make your online marketing venture a successful one. Don’t make it unrealistic, make it things that you can do but do successfully and then grow into the stages where you can do even more.

Plan to work hard on this new venture. That doesn’t necessarily mean putting in a forty hour work week on it, that may be unrealistic for you at this time, but it does mean making the time that you do have to put into it productive.

You will want to plan how to make your business stand out favorably from those of your competitors. You will want to plan how to best reach your target potential customers. You will want to formulate some sort of a sales plan to get your new business off to a grand start and let everyone know about its existence.

First do it on paper, then do it on the web. Follow your business plan carefully, don’t be afraid to add to it either as you get new ideas, but do so realistically and then follow through with them.

You wouldn’t start out on a road trip through unknown territory without some kind of a map and expect to successfully reach your destination easily. The same thing with your trip into the world of online marketing. Your business plan is your road map to having a successful online marketing business. Build it carefully, follow it carefully and may your storm of the online marketing world be a successful one.

How To Use Autoresponders With Affiliate Programs and Pop Up Windows

It has been proven that most prospects much hear a message as many as 7 times before purchasing.

Multiple follow up autoresponder systems allow you to place an opt in form on your website which captures your prospect’s name and email address and then sends them up to ten personalized follow up messages about your business.

A very effective way to capture the prospects name and email address is through a pop up window which opens whenever someone leaves your first page.

If you were selling a credit repair system for example your form could say “Place your name and email address here to get 10 free tips by email on how to restore your credit.”

The problem arises when you are promoting an affiliate program and you are not allowed to modify their self replicated webpages.

What we do is to make a copy of the first page of the self replicated site and place it on our servers or on a free web host with our modifications.

All the links still go to our affiliate site so we get still get credit for any sales and the new page has our pop up autoresponder form on it.

Here is how you do this:

1. Open your browser and go to the first page of your affiliate website.

2. Right click on the page. (Not on a Picture)

3. Left click on “view source.”

4. Left click on “file.”

5. Left click on “save as.”

6. Under “file name” type index.html

7. Under “save in” click the little arrow to the right and choose “C .”

8. Click save.

9. Go to start.

10. Go to Run.

11. Go to Browse.

12. Go to C Drive (Under Look In)

13. Under “files of type” click “all files.”

14. Look for index.html

15. Right click on the index.html

16. Click “view source”

17. Install this java script after the tag in your html code. This java script is courtesy of bravenet.com

Make sure you replace “yourdomain.com” with the domain for your free web host. You can find 100s of free web hosts at www.freewebspace.net .

18. Click “File.”

19. Click “Save as.”

20. Name the file “index.html .”

21. Under save in choose “C.”

22. Click “Save.”

23. Sign up for a free autoresponder account at www.realreply.com

24. Log into your account.

25. Go to “On Line Form Manager.”

26. Go to “Configure Autoresponder.”

27. Go to “Set Up Re-direct Link.”

28. Type in the url of your affiliate website. (www.youraffiliatedomain.com/yourid)

29. Click your back button twice to go to the autoresponder control panel.

30. Click “Get Form Code.

31. Leave the name and email fields checked exactly as they are.

32. Click generate form code.

33. Go to Start, Run, Programs, Accessories then notepad.

34. Copy and paste the form code you just generated into notepad.

35. Save the file to your C drive as popup.html

36. Upload both popup.html and index.html to your free web host.

37. Log back into your autoresponder control panel at www.realreply.com/login.html and type in several follow up email messages about your business.

Go to your free website and open up the first page. Click refresh and you will see your pop up window appear asking your prospects for their name and email address.

Note: If the pictures all are blank in the free website put this code into the portion on the html of the free web page. Make sure you place the url of the original url that your affiliate program gave you in this tag.

Redefining Distance to Market your Company

The recent terrorist attacks here in the US have caused many companies and individuals to rethink how they want to market to and work with others. As a result, web-enabled presentations and or collaborations are finally coming of age – the technology works with a minimum of hassle, it’s an efficient way to give marketing presentations, hold meetings, provide training and do product demonstrations. The cost savings can be significant, especially when contrasted with all of the burdened costs of holding conventional meetings; i.e. travel, hotel, transportation, facilities and “time out of the office issues.” Here is a quick primer on some baseline issues to consider when weighing the effectiveness of virtual marketing presentations and meetings.

1. There are a broad number of vendors, although the “virtual presentation and meeting” market segment has undergone consolidation in the last few years. I’d recommend assessing these four market leaders: www.webex.com (well established with diversified terms of services), www.placeware.com (corporate focused), www.centra.com (provides a good client plug in that enables Voice over IP (“VOIP”) communications, www.raindance.com (emphasizes teleconferencing).

2. PC configuration, Internet access and firewall issues all need to be considered when your assessing the effectiveness of this process and technology. Port settings need to be “tuned” or optimized, the PC must have multimedia capabilities if your using VOIP, just about any speed of internet connection will work, but the experience for the attendee can vary depending on the connection speeds and how “heavy” your presentation is with graphics.

3. Web presentations offer a lower cost model versus traditional presentations or meetings, but there are burdened costs for web-enabled marketing – phone conferencing can be anywhere from $.15-35 per minute per user, presentation uploads for a standard power point presentation (which is the defacto app for virtual presentations), can cost $10-30. per presentation, costs per attendee can vary tremendously but average $50-500. per session, depending upon the number of users.

4. One of the most expensive parts of virtual meetings is always the teleconferencing component. All of the market leaders have some VOIP component (voice over IP) but most are not publicizing this technology or service, as they don’t want to cannibalize a significant contribution to their revenue streams. One exception is Centra – they are offering VOIP integrated services with their standard web presentations or meetings. The audio quality is good, analogous to voice quality of a standard cell phone call – but there is a client download (small under 250K) to deal with and you must have a multi-media enabled PC.

5. Some web-enabled presentation challenges include the need to keep people involved – you can do this easily by leveraging the chat capabilities, dynamic polling, and standard Q&A components built into the application. The higher their interest level (as in real world meetings) the better your meeting or presentation will be.

6. Marketing presentations can be easily archived and made available to others on a 24/7 basis – this archiving can include the standard presentation, enhanced with video or audio components, depending on the sophistication of your presentation. Be prepared to pay an extra charge for this – but the marketing ROI can be significant, especially when you factor in how little most companies charge for an archiving service versus your front end costs.

7. Virtual marketing enables a whole set of web-enabled processes – you will have the ability to easily capture your prospect/customer’s e-mail address and standard contact points via a registration process, involve them and capture preferences via polling in your presentations and “push” follow up communications during your presentation/meeting or later. But, it’s very important to include standard “privacy” statements in your materials and adhere to them as you move forward through your business processes.

8. How does video conferencing impact your assessments of web-enabled presentations or collaborations? This depends on your budget, number of people attending the presentation, presenter and attendee locations and other intangible that are specific to your business. In general, video conferencing works better for very small (under five people) presentations or meetings, due to some of the inherent challenges of this medium.

Finding a Free Line Rental Mobile Phone Contract

Filed under:Consumer Market, The Telecommunication Way — admin @ 1:27 pm

Most consumers tend to have little knowledge of free line rental contracts because of the fact that they are a fairly recent development. Free line rental packages remain the least understood of all the packages on the market at time of writing.

Free line rental deals are in effect refund by redemption packages where the total value refunded by the redemption part of the deal covers the total value paid over the life of the contract.
