Fending off the no Fold ‘Em’s
Texas Hold ‘Em online poker and casino games attract all types of poker players. Good poker players know they must fold more hands than they play. But there are some players who engage in a “No Fold ‘Em” style that is extremely frustrating to savvy poker players.
No Fold ‘Em players are typically found in cash games, usually at the lower limit tables, though some also will sit at the 30/60 tables and up. These players are looking for a gambling thrill and relying on luck to win anything. Because the betting is limited and capped at a fixed amount, they know the amount they can lose is a fixed amount for each hand. They can’t fold in the face of a raise, and they go to the river every time. This is where bad beats happen – when the No Fold ‘Em player hits the inside straight or trips on the river.
The only way to play against this type is to be tight and aggressive. You are not going to drive this player off the pot, so you can only play premium cards. If the flop is rags, then fold. If your pockets complete to a winning hand, or even the nuts, then bet out a raise to the No Fold ‘Em player. Since you can’t put them off a pot, you might as well let them build a bigger one for you.
