Adjustments
There’s a fine line to walk between discipline and stubbornness in poker games, and erring to the side of being too stubborn can cost you money in any given game.
Let’s talk about adjustments.
Too many players start to see some success playing poker robotically. Raising with the range of hands they’ve been taught to raise with. Folding when the odds are bad, and only playing when you know you have the nuts.
While at the lower levels, when you have non thinking players you may very well be quite successful with this method. In fact, you may ingrain it so much into your habits, that it’ll be hard for you to do anything else.
This creates two problems at Everest Poker telecharger. Primarily, if you plan on moving up to levels of play where the players are actively watching you and dissecting your every move, then you’ll easily become the exploitable one rather than the one exploiting the bad habits of bad players.
Eventually, the bad players go away, and at that point, you’re stuck having to make decision based on more than just how you were taught. You’ll have to start analyzing odds, and reading the other players.
The second part is that the mechanical play style leaves tons of equity on the table. If you’re always only betting 1/3 pot as a value bet, and you have an opponent you’ve realized is calling down way too often, you 1/3 value bets could be adjusted up to full pot. This is adjusting your strategy. And it works on all the aspects of the game. At a table full of tight passive players, if you stick to only playing tight aggressive styles, then you’re losing the ability to steal a lot of blinds with marginal holdings.
So in order to progress further, you not only have to become more observant of other players ,but you have to adjust your play according to these observations.
