Filed under:Design Tips, Hardware Center, Home Improvement — admin @ 11:10 am

There are solar powered hot water systems for all budgets and homes. Sometimes people choose to place the water tank outside, sort of like a cistern. The sun keeps the water hot. Other times, using active solar power, people choose to have water tubes running alongside their solar panels. The water gets heated as it runs along the tubes. Solar cells can be used on laptops, cell phones, and other such devices.

The solar cells, too, juice up the batteries within those items. The use of an inverter converts them to AC power. This is because it involves architecture and designed which incorporates skylights and a whole lot of windows, many of them large, particular on the side of the house facing south. This structure works exactly like your car on a hot summer’s day.

If you’re not producing enough for your needs; the deficit is just drawn from the grid – it’s a seamless process that doesn’t require your intervention. By the way, your electricity utility doesn’t get that surplus electricity you generate for free; it’s metered and usually will appear as a credit on your next bill – this is called ‘net metering’.In some countries, the surplus electricity generated by a grid connect residential solar power system is worth more than the market rate, so some people actually get paid by their electricity utility!

This is called a feed-in tariff system. The technologies of today can now make good use of this energy resource. Quite simply, solar power is the process of converting sunlight into electric power. The main technological device that is used to convert sunlight into useable energy is known as a photovoltaic.

There are also other items that have been utilized for solar conversion. Some examples of these are thermal converters, solar chimneys and even solar ponds. Solar power is a much safer and cleaner way of creating electricity and its use has now become an important aspect of structure design.

Custom Designed Jewelry in Southern California

Filed under:Consumer Market, Design Tips, Jewelry — admin @ 11:26 am

My mom was thinking about getting her jewelry appraised, but wasn’t too sure where. I told her to go this Southern California custom jewelry store because it was close to our house. They do jewelry appraisal, jewelry repair, consignment, and much more. The worst part about this story is that I had to go with her. I knew that I was dead meat and my whole day was shot because my mom loves her diamonds, gems, necklaces, and bracelets. You name any type of jewelry, she loves it, and she has to take her time studying each one like she’s going to buy them all.

The place was small, but very accommodating and made my mom and I feel comfortable. My mom had many questions about gems, and they answered all of them since they have a gemologist on staff. They also did my mom’s jewelry appraisal and she was happy about the worth of her precious trinkets. I on the other hand was bored out of my mind, but what can a son do when trapped in a situation like this. After what seemed like an eternity we were done, and my mom was finished strolling along each of the glass cases housing all the custom jewelry and diamond rings. Her favorite cases were the ones that held the rubies and sapphires. Thank goodness she wasn’t out to buy any of them, but if she wanted to, she now has a place close to home.

Modern Day Downtown’s are Being Built From the Ground Up.

Finally a mall worth speaking about has been built in my neck of the woods. Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga is a pretty interesting outdoor mall. The funny thing is they wanted to have a downtown feel to this mall, but there is no such thing as a real downtown area in Rancho Cucamonga. Instead they built a mall from the ground up making the facade of the buildings have a downtown urban feel to them. Maybe Riverside should wake up and take notice and see what type of profits are coming to this new boomtown. Hell, Riverside already has a real downtown, but maybe they are behind the times. Well enough about that archaic city, let’s talk about the new utopias that are trying something creative.

Victorian Gardens has many cool and trendy stores for all ages and many different places to eat. There’s the food court and if you want more of a nice sit down style there are places like Cheesecake Factory and if money is not the issue, then there’s Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse.

The only thing that I found odd is that the website doesn’t reflect the trendy hip feel of Victoria Gardens. What they need is a cool website design like this place offers.
