Oxygenating Your Body for Health and Energy
A very uncomplicated manner in which to keep the body nourished, cleansed and healthy is to oxygenate your body regularly. I’m talking about a breath exercise that involves filling the lungs with nourishing air. The casual act of oxygenating our body is one of numerous natural ways you foster your body’s natural detox function?
Breathing air is something we do every day all day long. Unfortunately the oxygen we breathe is polluted in many places, so be aware of this. You won’t want to perform your deep breath technique waiting on a busy street as you wait for the bus. Ideally you should do your oxygenation practice at home, inside or outside if it’s in a place where the air is fresh and clean.
Stand straight and tall. Then take in a long deep, soothing breath, filling up your belly until you think it might erupt. Contain the air for as long as you can (do not force it), and then slowly exhale the air through your mouth. Try to do 5 to 10 inhalations and exhalations in this manner.
Over time, you can change this practice by raising the arms over your head, fingers pointing toward the ceiling as you inhale, and softly lowering them during the exhale.
Oxygenating the body moves oxygen into your bloodstream, which delivers it into your cells to nutrify and detoxify them of toxic waste. Augmented oxygen in the system induces blood flow and movement of the lymph fluid through the lymphatic system. Both of these circulatory systems are fundamental to our body’s cleansing functions.
